takes excellent care of you in white water canyons as well as on
stormy ridges of some 20000 ft nevado.
ANDINISM AND MOUNTAINEERING
The "Cordillera Volcanica" in Souther Peru is well-known for its
beautiful volcanos, like the Misti, Ubinas and Sabancaya - all
active, displaying fumaroles all year. You can climb 20,000 feet
high Nevados like the Chachani, Ampato or Coropuna, most of them
require little technical skills and all of them demand excellent
acclimatisation to the elevation. From Arequipa you have the
best access to all of them.
The facil ones you can climb all year while the medium to
diffcult ones should be ascended during the months April through
December. Some mountains never have been climbed at all and wait
for your challenge. Many areas are in pristine/virgin condition
and just wait to be explored by you.
ROCKFACE CLIMBING AND CANYONING
In our area we many places suitable for sports climbing. Just 15 minutes from the town we created a climbing school with rock faces from 35 to 350 feet high, with varying technical difficulties.
Nearby we have installed a route for canyoning, sporting 5 cascades of different height, which we cross with rope and "rappel", perfect for an exciting day enriched with adrenaline.
TREKKING
The best routes for trekking are the pre-hispanic trails as well as routes passing through different eco-systems. Plenty varieties of flora and fauna, of scenic landscapes leading to snow capped volcanos awaits you, like our route 'Origin of the Amazonas, or to impressive canyons as deep as the COLCA Canyon or the Cotahuasi Canyon, routes which will bring you to archeological sites and to picturesque typical villages of the 'sierra'. Our tours take 3 to 10 days, most are available during the whole year.
ARQUEOLOGY
Our area contains several archeological sites, like the petroglyphs at Toro Muerto, the caves of Sumbay and Mollepunko and much more. Many remain undiscovered, most have not been studied in full detail yet. Visiting these sites will improve the understanding of ancient cultures with their achievements centuries ago.
ECOTURISM
The rich flaura and flora of our land - especially so in the Reserva Nacional de Salinas y Aguada Blanca and in the Colca and Cotohuasi Canyons - make your visit unforgettable and exciting. Tropillas of vicuñas, up to 3 different types of flamencos and uncounted small and big birds, with their King - the Condor - flying near the canyons, will be an unchallenged thrill to watch in their native habitat.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Around Arequipa we have several routes perfect for mountain biking trips, like exploring the Campiña or the valleys of the Colca or Cotohuasi rivers. With a bicycle of our qualitiy it is a challenge to run through these exciting landscapes.
RAFTING
The rivers Colca, Majes and Chili boost suitable conditions to explore them with varying technical difficulties.
Preferrably from May through December the rivers are recommended for rafting trips as the currents will be more controllable during these months.
EXPEDITIONS 4X4
Many routes cross deep into the desert, the altiplano or through valleys in the Andes mountains, revealing wonderful and scenic villages. They require the full features of our vehicles as well as the experience and skills of our drivers.
ORGANIZATION OF EXPEDITIONS
In our neighborhood on national as well as international level we organize for you hiking or climbing parties to such renowned peaks like the Nevado Sajama in Bolivia, the Aconcagua or Ojos de Salado in Argentina, or the twin volcanoes Parinacotas on the chilean-bolivian border. Wherever you go, we shall be of your assistance.
